SUMMARY

I'm a product designer with experience in UX, visual design, branding and marketing design, and content strategy.

I'm a passionate advocate for the user. I love telling their stories through well-designed products and brands, and have had the privilege of designing products that make a real difference in their day-to-day lives. I love every part of the design process - from research, user flows, wireframing, rapid prototyping, asset production, creating high fidelity mockups, and designing in code.

I feel the best products and brands are created through collaboration, and thrive on a team where ego takes a backseat to doing great work.

EXPERIENCE

Senior UX Designer, Telmate   San Francisco, CA — August 2016-Present

As a member of the UX Design Team, I design modern communications products for those incarcerated in secure facilities (inmates) and their support systems (friends and family members). My goal is to design intuitive products like video chat and messaging to help inmates maintain strong connections with their loved ones, make their return to society easier by keeping them up-to-date with modern technologies, and reduce their chance of recidivism.

I also work on products that help jail staff and investigators monitor and manage inmate communications.

I do this by conducting user interviews & researching, and applying the learnings to tell the user's story. I then collaborate with other designers and product owners to create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes. I then pair with front-end engineers and QA engineers to bring these products to market.

Products I have worked on include those for web, mobile, android tablet and custom touchscreen interfaces.

I'm currently keeping our brand standards and design patterns consistent across all products by working with the Director of UX to build a living style guide.

UX/Visual Designer, Telmate   San Francisco, CA — 2011-2016

As a member of both the Marketing Team and UX team, I worked closely with various teammates to ensure each of our three brands are consistently executed in all marketing collateral (both print and digital), across our multiple marketing websites, and throughout our products.

I worked with other UX designers and engineers to create streamlined, on-brand products for multiple devices, including mobile responsive, mobile native, desktop and custom touch screen devices and tablets. This work included everything from information architecture to ideation, to wireframes, to high-fidelity mockups and workable prototypes.

I designed (and sometimes wrote) landing pages, websites, email and social media campaigns, and in-product ad placements that allow our brands to clearly communicate with their various audiences while cultivating a positive experience for our users. I was often responsible for campaign strategy and measuring campaign success.

Other responsibilities have included android/iOS asset production, brand and identity creation, sales and internal presentation design, printed and digital collateral design, photo retouching, video editing, and project management.
